My hus...My worst tumble was in the summer of 2008. My husband and I were on a wonderful vacation in England on a narrowboat, cruising the canals and just having a great time. I it rains pretty much every day in England and that tends to make things slippery. But I'm getting ahead of myself. The narrowboat is like a houseboat and it was just the two of us on it. I didn't like the way it steered (rutter system seemed counter intuitive to me) so I was responsible for jumping off the boat when we came to a lock and running up to open it, get the water to our level, open the gates and allow my husband to get our boat into the lock, then close it up and fill it and open the opposite gates to let him out. Then I'd run up the shoreline and jump back on the boat until the next lock. This was all new to me and I was a little nervous about it all. Well, in my nervousness and haste,(this is where the rain and everything being slippery comes in) I slipped going down the stairs of the boat and took every step on my back. The problem was that we still had to continue on our trip so regardless of the pain, things had to be done. My only saving grace was that in England you can get codine without a prescription and so I could at least numb the pain for the rest of the trip. It was a foolish mistake that I will NEVER forget. Like you, nothing was broken, but boy was I sore!ellenmcrawleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01608205719275289928noreply@blogger.com
