And, don't you just love the slide mounts w/ the dog name stamped in them...adhered together & hanging like a sign on a real dog house?!?

Search & Find Contest Winners

Thanks to all of you who sent us answers to our latest 'search & find' contest. We've drawn 3 winners...but we wanted to clarify a couple things.

We do these type of contests for fun...to give you a silly reason to scroll thru our blog...to learn more about us & our products along the way. We don't really care what the question or the answer is...we want you to enjoy the process....just like our approach to classes & scrapbooking as a whole. Enjoy the journey, regardless of how it turns out. We give you a silly question & have the answer in a blog post, even if it's not the CNN or Google answer. On this one, our local news said we rec'd 17" in one day...obviously more over the 3 days that we were affected by the storm. So, we got answers from 17" to 27", with some down to the hundreths of an inch. We appreciate the effort of your research...but you don't need to look far to answer any question we ask...just head to our blog...enjoy the sites along the way to the answer you're sent to find...then cross your fingers that we draw your name!

Hope that helps explain this past contest a little better.

Now, on to the 3 winners...

Congratulations to:

Linda Shea
Amanda Dossa
Gladys Doll

Each of you has won a $10 gift certificate to our online store! Just email us at kellerscreations@acidfree.com by 9-30-08 to claim your code.

Thanks to each of you who participated...and the lucky 3 who won. Each of you, stay tuned...as you know we'll do something like this again soon!!!

Gotta love these stamps!!

Hi Keller's customers! This is Kathy, one of Keller's Creations designers. I just had to stop by the blog and tell you how in love I am with the newest of Keller's fantastic products! Wow, these new stamps are so cool!! I am lovin' the new swirl and circle stamps. The swirls have the coolest details in them and are so perfect for adding a quick embellishment to pages, cards and paper crafting projects. Check out this tag I made with one of the swirl stamps. The shape of the swirls makes them the perfect accent to circles and rings that you can get at our online site http://www.acidfree.com/ .

Pumpkin Patch

You can create fun layouts like this with our Circles stamp set, one set of Rings (new Halloween Mix & Match set used here), and our Fall Tag Wrap. Then, just add a snip of ribbon to one of the rings & 3 buttons.
On the 12x12 cardstock, Margaret used just 4 of our Circles stamps to create the fun background pattern. She stamped with orange ink...it's a great technique, if you haven't tried it....stamp same color ink on cardstock. She did the same on the purple mats....stamping just down one side of the mat & then inking the edges.

Trick or Treat...

What a cute Trick or Treat card!

You can use this card as an easy template for any season or occasion...all by using your 'leftovers' from layouts...a strip of paper, 1 ring left from our Rings pk (27 per pk), a strip from our Tag Wraps, a snip of ribbon, & some eyelets. Oh, but don't forget the fun stamps!! These are from our new Circles set.

STAND UP

Stand Up to Cancer is on right now...

I'm not alone in knowing someone who is fighting this disease.
I'm not alone is missing someone who was taken too early because of this disease.
I'm not alone wishing I could make a difference.

This weekend, please go to www.standup2cancer.org and give.

We will be giving $1 from every online order this weekend as we STAND UP 2 CANCER!

Sketch # 37

Use the XL square slide mount in this layout to bring attention to the focal point of a 5x7 or 6x8 print. You'll love this idea! You can add 1 photo to the Connector Liner, or 3 small ones as shown - depending on how many pix you need to fit on the layout.

Sketch # 36

Our solid Connector Liners create this page. Just do the mirror image of this for the 2nd page. This layout can be done over & over, just using different colors.
You can order 30 colors of cardstock Connectors under our Cardstock Creations link on on our site.

Sketch # 35

Getting lots of photos on a page is easy with this layout! Just use lots of tags across the bottom of a page...and continue to a double page spread for even more photos. Stacker circles are used at the top. Just stamp your title for any themed page you like.

Remember, you can order these kits on our site...or order the pieces in our Mix & Match Collections to pick your own patterns. Use our sketches for fast layouts...and send us pix of your creations. We'd love to show them off for you!

Sketch # 34

Our Jumbo 11" circle is the basis for this whimsical page. The bottom right ring for journaling actually has the big circle trimmed out from it...so journaling is done in the ring right on the background sheet.
To recreate this page with other patterns, you just need 1 scalloped Stacker, a set of Rings, 1 Jumbo 11" circle, and snips of ribbon.

A simple project...

This card features our new Elegant Scroll set and 'hi there' from our new Greetings word set. Add a couple flowers & brads...how easy is that??

August...what a blur!

With 6 shows in the 5 weeks of August...and Keller's 13th birthday...and so much more, the month seemed to both fly by and to last forever.

On the first day of the month, we had to say good-bye to a member of our family. After 9 years of love & fun...then 8 months of fighting cancer, Keller & I had to make the hardest decision imaginable. For those of you who've made the decision to end the suffering of a pet, our hearts break for you, too.

Maggie, you are missed so.

Then, we hit the road...

We had a blast traveling to new shows...and back to some of our favorites, too! My brother, David, joined us in Charlotte & Tulsa...he's so funny...the ladies couldn't get enough of him! (hopefully his make & take project taught them a little, too)

We loved the TULSA show...where the line never seemed to end! Thanks, ladies, for being so patient, fun, & encouraging of our products. Thanks, too, to all of the ladies -- and 2 men -- who took classes from us in Valley Forge, Charlotte, Santa Clara, Tulsa, Chicago, and San Diego. I hope you enjoyed class as much as we did!

Thanks, too, to my great staff for traveling all over this country with me. David & Lori set new record numbers of make & takes in a day! Kathy, Deb, David, Mason, Tracy, Lori, Kristy, Jillian, and Carol ---THANKS for carrying me thru the month!! And, Deb, I'm so sorry the booth fell on you....I promise, that's not our usual way of welcoming new employees! And, Catherine, I can't thank you enough for your endless efforts on the homefront while we're gone.

And, to all of our customers, I can't thank you enough for letting me continue along this amazing journey. The overwhelming support & praise & sheer delight in our products & our classes are priceless gifts to each of us who work so hard to make it happen.

While on the road, tropical storm Fay decided to make an unwelcomed visit to our hometown of Thomasville, Ga. This is what 17 inches of rain in one day did to our town...

So long, August.

Don't blink.

Or before you know it, your baby will be 13 years old.

I can't believe Keller became a teenager today... on 08-08-08....where did the time go? While I stay in a state of denial, Keller is enjoying a weekend of fun for his birthday -- bowling...friends...pizza & wings...ice cream cake...roller coasters...swimming...wii games...family...i-tunes...UGA tickets...

While he celebrates, I reminisce...recalling details that never change...big brown eyes & the cutest dimples ever...an adventurous spirit that thrills me & scares me at the same time...the enormity of raising a boy, watching him become a man...

I remain grateful...proud...happy...tired...all because I'm Keller's mom.

CRUISE OPTIONS - Give us your Opinion

We're trying to finalize the details of our next SCRAPBOOK CRUISE!! But, we need your input! We've nailed down the week of April 5-12...and narrowed it to 2 different cruises. Here are the 2 options:

Cruise #1:
  • 7-Day Cruise on Carnival Legend, departing Tampa Bay Sunday, April 5th & returning Sunday, April 12th
  • 4 Ports of Call --- Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Belize, and Roatan Island (Honduras)
  • Cost - $850 - $950 (1st & 2nd persons; 3rd & 4th persons slightly less depending on availability)
  • Scrapbooking fee of $39 (3 classes, 3 make & take projects, crop space for entire cruise...this is just for scrappers...friends & family members joining you don't pay this!)

Cruise #2:

  • 5-Day Cruise on Carnival Inspiration, departing Tampa Bay Monday, April 6th & returning Saturday, April 11th
  • 2Ports of Call --- Cozumel & Grand Cayman
  • Cost - $650 - $750 (1st & 2nd persons; 3rd & 4th persons slightly less depending on availability)
  • Scrapbooking fee of $39 (3 classes, 3 make & take projects, crop space for entire cruise...this is just for scrappers...friends & family members joining you don't pay this!)

These costs INCLUDE all taxes, fees, and even fuel surcharges. Also, our classes are COMPLETE classes...like we teach at scrapbook conventions across the country (usually $25 - $30 each). You'll learn new techniques and leave with lots of finished projects.

So, here's what we want to know:

1. Would you consider going on either of these cruises?

2. Which cruise would you prefer?

3. Would you even consider your 2nd choice?

4. Would you prefer making a deposit in July and monthly payments thereafter? or would you prefer a deposit of 1/2 and second payment of 1/2 due 90 days before sailing?

By answering these questions & posting your answers here, you'll be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate!! We appreciate your time & input, and we're blessed to have you as our customer!

Summer CONNECTOR Idea

What a simple project to make...what special memories to keep! To create this project, you'll need:

3 chipboard Connectors (1 pk)
3 Connector Liners (Delight pattern used here...1/2 of one pk)
Stacker Set (Delight pattern again...2 scalloped Stackers used & 1 small Stacker circle, so you'll have another 15 left in one pack!)
2 XL slide mounts
1 slide mount
Sister Slide Spot...or use any theme that works for you.
Dots background stamp for small mount
Scribbled Circles XL background stamp for XL mounts
"Sweet" stamp from Peaceful & More Word stamp set
Upper & Lower case Curly Alphabet Stamps for title
white sheer ribbon to tie it all together
ink to distress edges & use for stamps

You'll be amazed how easy this project comes together! And, remember, you can decorate the backside of this, too...to use more photos...and then sit it on a 'see-thru' bookcase or on a desk.

Enjoy!

Sketch # 33

When stamping titles around Rings like this, remember how easy it is to 'round' your acrylic stamps...manipulating the shape of acrylic letters & words can change the whole feel of your page.

Sketch # 32

The birthday stamps used in the XL slide on this layout are from our Birthday Stamp Set for just $3 - what a steal! The mount is stamped with our Fabric background stamp. Add a set of rings & 2 photos...count another page done!

Sketch # 31

Divide an 8.5x11" piece of cardstock into quarters with ric rac or ribbon...makes an easy & interesting photo mat! Add a pair of Stacker circles, stamp a title, and add your journaling...so easy!! If you wanted a double page, just carry over the Stacker pieces that you cut off to the next page...and you could add another 8.5x11 piece. Oh, don't forget the die cut flower & button...you could use big Primas, too!
